Kitties For Kiddies

Health

Check your cat or cats regularly for any signs of ill health. Their eyes should be wide open, except when asleep or blinking (hopefully your cat closes its eyes), and also bright and free of any dischage, anything gooey or hard or anything else. If not, wipe its eyes with a cotton ball or cotton swab. If this continues, bring your cat to the vetrinarian and get some medicine if needed. Ears should not have any reddness, irratation, or a abnormal smell or waxy discharge, because these may be signs of ear disease. Their mouths should be checked for sore gums and ulcers.

There are other things you and your cats need to watch out for, like external parasites (which are on the cat's body), that include fleas, which are small can be pulled off by hand, and ticks which are large and need to be pulled of using rubbing alchohol and tweezers, and internal parasites (which are in the cat's body) that include roundworms and tapeworms. You can treat and stop all of the parasites in this list by asking your vet for something to treat them with.

Your cat also needs once a year check-ups and, as it gets older, bring it to the vet more often. Your cat will get checked for any signs disease or illness. They will also need vaccinations for diseases such as feline distemper, calicivirus, feline rhinotracheitus, and rabies. Absolutely make sure your cat has rabies vaccines.
